Modern Mom {Ann Malik}
Since starting MoPa, we’ve met so many amazing women. It’s a total bonus when we also get to collaborate because they just so happen to be the founder of a product we love so much. At our last Spring Thing event, we filled our swag bags with Ann’s Fresh Feet Wipes. Needless to say, these fresh-scented wipes have become a mainstay in our homes. Another bonus? We get to feature Ann our on blog because she is a total MoPa.
Meet Ann Malik of Fresh Feet Wipes.
What does a typical day in the life consist of? Shower, get kids ready for school, get myself ready for work while my husband feeds them breakfast,hurry everyone out the door. Work during school hours, drive around for kids activity, dinner (my husband usually does the cooking – thank you!), bedtime stories and struggles, and then collapse on the couch with a glass of wine with my husband.
Tell us about your career and the inspiration behind it? When I was little I didn’t envision myself as a working mom. However I enjoyed my career in business after college. Then after meeting and joining my entrepreneur-husband and helping him run his product company, I had the desire to take my ideas to market. I’ve always been a hard-worker and leader, but the inspiration for actually starting my company is 100% from my husband.
Aside of work and being a mom, what are some of the other things you’re passionate about? We are a very active family – I do yoga, run, and golf. Our family loves skiing and tennis. We stay active, healthy, and have fun together.
What is your favorite mom moment so far? There are so many wonderful moments but my favorite is probably when my 3 children are really loving and thoughtful toward each other.
If you could describe your family in three words, what would they be? Busy, Active, and Laughing
How would you describe your personal style? Simple Elegance
Your favorite style icon? My daughter! My wardrobe has become more feminine and fun because of her.
What’s one activity you love to do with the kids? With the girls; paint our nails – we just did Red, White, and Blue w Sparkles.
What is one of your most popular go-to meals during the work week? I’m so lucky to have a husband that loves to cook! However, my go-to meal in the winter is anything in the slow cooker! Toss some things together in the morning and its ready when we get home. In the summer we eat fresh – fish, tomatoes, corn.
Being a mother is a big job in itself. How do you balance between career and home life? Do you have advice for other moms?
It’s not easy! Teamwork with my husband is important. We also have a great nanny who we are generous to since she takes great care of our entire household. The key for me is shutting off work when I’m at home with the kids. As soon as I try to do both at the same time, I get stressed and nobody is happy.
Advice? Be present in whatever you’re doing.
