Modern Mom {Corey Grayhorse}
I met the lovely Corey Grayhorse right before the holidays, and the irony here is that we met while she was photographing me for a catalog campaign. As soon as Corey entered the room I fell hard for her personal style. She is fierce! Needless to say it was only a moment later that she got a call to be featured as a Modern Mom here on MoPa. Her home has a wonderful, creative energy, and her daughter Cailee is a total charmer.
Meet Corey and Cailee.
What does a typical day in the life consist of?
It starts with getting Cailee out the door for school, lots of coffee, and a little local news. Then the rest of my day is always a little different from the next but you’re definitely sure to find me planted in front of my computer editing photos, out on location for a photo shoot, or running some errands.
I am a visual artist and a freelance professional photographer. With this being my career it allows me to be creative on a daily basis which I absolutely love!
I’m passionate art, photography, and collecting quirky antiques.
What is your favorite mom moment so far?
One day when Cailee and I were driving home from the market she pulled out her journal and read me what she wrote that day. It totally just blew me away. I sobbed. Her inner thoughts and beliefs just brought this ‘AHA’ moment in motherhood. I couldn’t believe that this child was a part of me. I was so impressed with her kindness & knowledge and it just reminded me how truly special of a person she is.
If you could describe your family in three words, what would they be?
I don’t feel like I really conform to any one style in particular. I’m really in to 2-piece pant suits, bold prints, every color in the Pantone Book, bows, gold chains, bamboo hoops, and every gaudy vintage fashion gems.
One thing we’d find you and your daughter doing on the regular?
Mexican is pretty much a staple food here in the house. I’m always making tacos, enchiladas, fresh salsa, rice, and beans.
Being a mom is a pretty big job in itself. How do balance career and home life?
What are you currently listing to?
Three things we’d find in your handbag right now?
5 bright shades of lipstick, about a thousand receipts for lord knows what, and a doll head from a photo shoot.
On Date Night, we’d find you where?
Date night!? Doesn’t happen often, but if it were up to Eric we would be in Knightsville at his favorite Italian restaurant Cafe Itri. He takes me there from time to time.
