DIY Maraca Shaker
DIY Maraca Shaker.
Our house is a musical one. On any given day you’ll find Justin, Nate & Charlie jamming out together which makes me one happy mama. We have the traditional offerings: drum kit, paper guitars, keyboards, etc – and they are all put to beautiful music making use. Our house is also a crafty one, so I adore this musical DIY. Here’s a sweet little maraca shaker that’s perfect for your own family band.
Supplies:
Old easter eggs
Plastic Forks
Glue
Spray paint (optional)
Beans, rice, or beads
Trim
Assembly:
The first instruction here is completely optional, but I went for it: spray eggs & spoons evenly. Everything I used for this craft I already had in my studio, so I grabbed some gold paint from our last MoPa Event. Next fill your eggs with rice, uncooked beans or beads. Glue two spoons to each egg to craft a handle. Be sure the spoons are even, and opposite each other. Next, add decorative trim around the seam area of the egg – secure with glue. Notice the pom-pom here? Cuteness overload. I also added tiny cuts into paper streamers to add texture and an authentic feel to the shaker. Get creative with you decoration, for sure. To complete this noise maker, I simply wrapped colored thread around the handle for a comfortable grip, but that too is optional. What is not optional? The family music we’ll create with out house-made maracas! {shake, shake, shake!}
beyond cute and just what this mom of three needs for her crafty gals!
