This edition of Local Love is perfect for right now… Entertaining? Craving your favorite holiday treat? Planning to bake, but forgot how? We’ve got you covered.

{ Jennifer’s Favorite Local Bakery }

It was a sunny afternoon when Jennifer and I decided to meet up for a quick bite at the Shipyard Galley. Not only do they have a delicious savory lunch menu, but their sweet offerings were abundantly perfect. Please note the little bars of wonder (aka cheesecake bar) that quickly made it in a to-go box.

Meet Jennifer & The Shipyard Galley, Mattapoisett, MA.

What do you love about the Shipyard Galley? I love the grab and go selection that have available everyday. For us, it works well especially during a busy week. I love that’s is fresh and delicious. For the Holidays, their baked goods selection makes entertaining (or picking up a quick sweet treat just for myself) SO easy.

We asked you to share your favorite seasonal treat with our readers, and you picked the Shipyard Galley Blondie Cheesecake bar and Oatmeal Cookie?! Well, in our home a blondie cheesecake combo wins hands down. The Richards clan calls it a “Cheese Square” and for every single holiday it’s the first question that comes up – “who is bringing the Cheese Squares,” followed by my husband’s emphatic, “ooooooh those are so good.” They also freeze really well, so we store the extras for another time. The oatmeal cookies are simple, not overly sweet and are flourless, which works for me and my gluten-free diet.

What else would you recommend from the Shipyard Galley? Their gingerbread loaf! It’s nostalgic flavor is perfect for holiday, and it’s super moist. They make great gifts for just about anyone, just add a festive bow and a little note!

Tell us what you love most about the Holidays? I love the energy of the holiday season. There is a collective hustle and bustle that you don’t have any other time of year. It’s something about the hope and anticipation in the little ones’ eyes that is totally contagious.

How would you describe your Holiday style? Super simple. I do as much ahead as I can, but I certainly don’t sweat the small stuff. I’ve been known to pull outfits together in 5-minutes before leaving the house. So…sometimes I have to throw on a borrowed pair of shoes one size too big at the last moment (senior prom trick…some things never change).

What’s tops on your wish list this Holiday (one item)? Hmmm…good question! you mean I get a gift too?! Well, I’m interested in something timeless this year. A special piece of jewelry or a luxury item that will last well into the future. I want something that will be worth keeping for years to come.
